About Us
Northglenn Arts is a division of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department for the City of Northglenn. Through grants and sponsorships received by the Northglenn Arts & Humanities Foundation, and through City funding, Northglenn Arts coordinates and offers live theatrical performances, arts education, special events, and leads the development of public art throughout the city.
Mission
The mission of the Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) is to maintain and nurture the cultural arts for the benefit of our community. We will accomplish this through the development and support of successful collaborations between the arts, businesses, service groups, schools, and artists for optimum utilization of artistic resources. We strive to provide access for all residents to the performing and visual arts, to promote an awareness of the arts and to enhance our community image through the development of a cultural climate. In partnership with the City of Northglenn, we sponsor affordable, quality arts programs and performances at the Parsons Theatre and in City parks and schools.

New Parsons Theatre Dedication: October 2021
Colorado’s Poet Laureate Bobby LeFebre gave a live reading of his poem “An Exercise in Ritual” on October 6 during the Grand Opening Celebration of the new Parsons Theatre. The poem was written and dedicated to the Theatre. LeFebre declares “what a gem this space is, not only for the North Metro Area, but for the larger arts and culture ecosystem. Northglenn is seemingly a small community. A small community with an enormous heart. A small community with immense foresight. A small community with a huge love for its people. As Northglenn grows, so too will its connection to its people. That’s what culture does. It makes us feel a part of something. It creates bridges where otherwise maybe walls would be.”
“Congratulations and thank you for your commitment to your story, to our collective story, for creating something truly special that has the potential to advance equity, give voice to the purposely silenced, be intentionally reflective of the diverse communities that wish to see themselves on stages and in programming”, states LeFebre.

Northglenn Arts Wins Two National Diversity Awards

Northglenn Arts, the city’s arts and culture division, has won national awards for its diverse programming. They received the 2020 Community Diversity & Inclusion Award from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) for populations between 10,000 and 49,999. They also earned the 2020 Cultural Diversity Award for populations 50,000 and under from the National League of Cities (NLC). Northglenn Arts & Humanities Foundation
Formed in 1990, the Northglenn Arts & Humanities Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization with a 501(c)3 status. The purpose of the foundation is to act as a vehicle for soliciting and accepting contributions to benefit cultural programs at the Parsons Theatre and throughout the City of Northglenn and to promote, encourage and solicit programs and events related to the theatre and arts. These programs and events can be of a charitable, educational, historic, artistic, musical, or dramatic nature. In addition to its commitment to theatre and music programs, the foundation has an added visual art emphasis through its public art program. Funded programs include: Missoula Children’s Theatre, Northglenn ’s Art on Parade Program, Northglenn Youth Theatre, Northglenn Players, Summer Concert Series, A Cappella Concert Series and the Summer Movie Series.
